If you're getting ready to sell your home, staging is a crucial aspect.
These are the top five tips for staging your home to sell for top dollar:
Work on your curb appeal. You want to make sure buyers are impressed when they first see your home. They should see freshly cut grass, freshly laid pine straw, newly trimmed borders, and of course, fresh flowers.
Declutter. This isn't the most fun part, but it's so important. You want buyers to come into your home and love it for its features without getting distracted by your pictures, collectibles, and trophy collection.
Clean your windows and light fixtures. Buyers want very light and bright homes, and when your windows and light fixtures are freshly cleaned, your house will be twice as bright.
Neutralize your paint and carpet colors. Most of today's buyers like neutral colors such as grays, beiges, and whites. If you have brightly colored rooms or out-of-the-box carpeting in your house, some buyers will cut your house completely out of the running even though they're easy issues to take care of. It's better to do it on the front end because you'll make more money on the back end.
Furniture placement. You wouldn't believe how important this can be. Most of us place our furniture based on the way we live in certain spaces, but it doesn't always enhance the room. The best thing to do is work with one of our stagers who can tell you exactly where things like chairs, tables, and pieces of art should go to make your home feel different.
